Leon Ziegler studied Cognitive Computer Science and Intelligent Systems at Bielefeld University. He received his Bachelor of Science in 2008 and the Master of Science in 2010. The title of his Master's thesis is "Developing a Vision-Based Object Search Behavior for a Mobile Robot". Subsequently, he joined the Applied Informatics Group at Bielefeld University as a member of the CITEC Graduate School. In April 2011 he became a member of the Collaborative Research Center 673 "Alignment in Communication" within the Project A4 "Alignment of Situation Models". He is a PhD student of "Intelligent Systems" and is supervised by Sven Wachsmuth.
Leon's research focus is on 2D/3D computer vision, scene analysis including spatial and temporal integration and robotic system integration. Within the CRC he works towards a model for situation awareness for the mobile robot BIRON. The goal is to establish and adapt a shared situation model with a human interlocutor.
Since 2009 he is a member of the "Team of Bielefeld" (ToBi) for the robocup@home competition.
